I never wanted to talk about how poorly Wike has coordinated himself in his ongoing state tour. But, since a good number of people want to know my opinion, I will oblige them that. This is because I value my readers and not necessarily because Wike's infantile utterances about Peter Obi are significant.
Firstly, I will say that I blame Peter Obi for the way Nyesom Wike has spoken about him respectively. If that will help renew his mindset toward power and politics, then it is for his own good. I have seen people who became charged with a burning desire to succeed because someone insulted them. Now, Obi ought to be the leader of PDP Southern Nigeria, needless to mention Southeast. But, he is not living up to expectations. He allowed Ugwuanyi to be the one calling the shots for Wike in the SE. The reason Wike had the guts to utter rubbish was that it is Peter. This is the major reason why I didn't want to air my view. Yes, Okwute is a presidential material, but for Nigerians to get the opportunity to vote for him he must first win the primary election. Did he wake up one day and decided to run for the 2023 presidential race? At the NWC how many people does he have? A man of his capacity should be able to have his people at the National and state leadership of the party.
Wike has Enugu state and Abia state in his pockets. The only 2 PDP states in the zone. What was Peter doing? Wike has over 50% of the party in Imo and Ebonyi states respectively. In 2019 they tried all they could to stop Peter from being Atiku's running mate. Thanks to Atiku who was determined to have him be his VP and some of us in the media who used our platforms to counter most of their plans.
Okwute knew these men are fighting him, and God placed him in a position to be their leader, yet he allowed them to continue to poke fingers into their eyes. Is it right?
Peter Obi is supposed to be the party leader, his state could not hold a successful congress. Partly because he is allowing some people to usurp power, distort the party's peace and unity, and do what they want. And he is running for the presidency. As far as national politics is concerned Anambra is a PDP state, as such he should ensure that the party is in order and unity ahead of the general elections.
Enough about Peter, more about Peter later.
Well, Wike, we know talks before he reasons. With intimidation as his trademark, he has continued to label himself as unpresidential. Wait, is it not the same Wike that was humiliated and embarrassed by Ganduje a few days ago? Like I said earlier, what he said about Okwute is inconsequential. One thing people should not forget is that instead of Wike becoming the president of Nigeria, the nationhood of Nigeria will break. No one wants him and he knows. Wike might be doing gragra now, by 2023 he will understand that power is transient and that the casualty of man is rotational.
I would rather we ask Peter to step up his game. Wike does not have two heads, he doesn't even have the goodwill of the people. I learned that Ayade left PDP because of Wike's overbearing influence in the party affairs of his state. A tyrannical meddlesome interloper, that is who Wike is.
Okwute is at a great advantage over all of the aspirants across political parties because he has the people's goodwill. Trust me, his challenge is getting the ticket and not winning the main election. So, my opinion is while Wike continues to demarket himself, Peter should consider his madness a wake-up call.
He must reclaim his position as the party leader in Southeast and by extension, Southern Nigeria.
I have said what most of us know but are afraid to say, and I take full responsibility for my actions. I am not an all correct sir person.
