SEE WHAT SOLUDO SAID ABOUT PETER OBI. SOLUDO WHY ?

“Soludo announced today that the 20 million dollar Peter Obi invested on behalf of Anambra State in Sabmiller group is worth 100 million dollar and from today Anambra State owns the highest share in the global company. The State was number 15 during the time of investment.”

The above is being circulated by those who are aggrieved at the way and manner Chief Willie Obiano squandered the patrimony of all of us in Anambra State.  Many people called me to confirm the authenticity, not in terms of figure mentioned, but in terms of whether our Governor made the statement or not. I answered that I was also trying to confirm, but could not. I do not circulate stories I do not confirm their authenticity.

However, the foregoing lends credence to our battle cry: Prof. Charles Soludo should address a world press conference or make a state-wide broadcast on the state of the State Prof. Willie Obiano handed over to him to avoid such news. The news could have come from Obiano or his supporters to show that after all he did not squander everything as being suspected. Before Soludo realises what is happening, he may go ahead and claim that the money reported as stolen were used to buy more shares for Anambra State in SABMiller. If he doesn’t know Willie’s capacity for financial mischief he should trace by what route “Near Cash” entered our financial lexicon.

All we are saying is that Soludo should be encouraged towards full disclosure to avoid “he said” and “he did not say.” There is still a conflict on the actual cash he inherited – N400 Million or N1.4 Million Naira?

Yes, Obi invested for Anambra State  in SABMiller and other companies. Obiano enjoyed the dividends of that investment for eight years and even sold some of the shares. When SABMiller issued rights offer, he could not re-invest one kobo for the State.

Shortly before Mr. Peter Obi left, he acquired expanse of land at the bank of Omaballa River for SABMiller to build the biggest brewery in Nigeria. Because Obiano was making all sorts of demands from them, they left in frustration and built what they wanted to build in Anambra in Shagamu, Ogun State. The day they opened that place, they alluded to that in their speech.  In fact, in his own speech, the Governor of Ogun State openly thanked Mr. Peter Obi for the part he played. But the same Obi did everything possible for the brewery to be located in Anambra, which Obiano frustrated.

The summary of this reaction is the need for full disclosure. The State is so messed up that only wicked people say we should stop condemning Obiano’s actions. Anybody who loves Anambra state should daily condemn how Obiano governed the State  for many reasons, including to serve as a warning to those that govern states on what not to do. Those saying Val is bitter should understand that I have every reason to be bitter. How can I sleep these days when I am daily harassed by the over half a billion trillion Naira debt incurred for the State by Obiano which is a huge distraction for  Soludo. Do you realise that it is under Soludo that some of his loans will mature for repayment? Do you realise that Obiano simply used eight years to enslave the State? Do you realise that  future generations (including my children’s children) will labour to repay Obiano’s debts from where Soludo and others will stop? May be when the demand for repayment comes, we should point at the Airport and International Conference Centre as reasons why such demands are probably unthinkable.
It is also a wicked person that will not support Soludo to rebuild a state messed up by eight years of “ribe Ive.” There is nothing else to eat, but to replenish the stores.
